Overview
Osaka Gas Liquid has established a high-purity methane production plant at the Senboku LNG Terminal I of Osaka Gas, which produces ultrahigh-purity methane gas from liquefied natural gas (LNG) imported by Osaka Gas, with impurities removed to the utmost limit.
Ultrahigh-purity methane gas is used as a carbon source in manufacturing cemented carbide tools, photoconductor drums, amorphous solar cells and other products, and every year there is growing demand for higher purity and more stable quality.
Furthermore, it is expected that the demand will continue to rise increasingly as a pure carbon source for new ceramics, diamond thin films and other cutting-edge technology fields, and the market will significantly grow in the future.
