Introduction to related SDGs by business
Business Using Cryogenic Energy

To transport natural gas from overseas to Japan, it is liquefied by cooling it to -160°C before transportation.
This is because liquefaction reduces the volume of the gas to 1/600th of its original volume and allows it to be transported very efficiently.
When liquefied natural gas (LNG) vaporizes back to natural gas, it deprives heat from the surrounding air to generate cryogenic energy.
The Osaka Gas Liquid Group is running environmentally friendly businesses by utilizing the cryogenic energy from LNG that Osaka Gas deals with.
Among others, in the industrial gas business, we can use this cryogenic energy in the process of producing liquefied oxygen, liquefied nitrogen and other liquefied gases to curb electricity consumption, thereby significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
Industrial gases produced by the Osaka Gas Liquid Group are widely used in manufacturing and medical fields.

Carbon Dioxide Business

The Osaka Gas Liquids Group recovers by-product CO2 gas from oil refineries and chemical plants and refines and processes it to produce liquefied carbon dioxide and dry ice.
The liquefied carbon dioxide and dry ice that we produce from CO2 gas that would otherwise dissipate into the atmosphere embody the effective use of CO2 gas.
The produced liquefied carbon dioxide is widely used in society for welding, beverages and industrial cooling, while dry ice is mainly used for cooling food.
The Osaka Gas Liquid Group contributes to society through the effective use of CO2 gas.

On-site Hydrogen Business

Hydrogen, which does not emit CO2 when reacted with oxygen, is attracting attention as a new energy source to replace conventional fossil fuels.
The Osaka Gas Liquid Group is engaged in on-site hydrogen business in which hydrogen generation system (HYSERVE) is installed in a customer’s factory and hydrogen is supplied from there.
The HYSERVE, which is equipped with a remote monitoring system, is maintained by Osaka Gas Liquid.
Hydrogen, which is conventionally produced at large plants and delivered from there, can be produced and supplied in an unused space of a plant, reducing the time and labor required for delivery.
We provide safe high-purity hydrogen requiring no labor.
